Sparinvest and STOXX Collaborate on Sparinvest’s Launch of First Danish-domiciled Fund Tracking the STOXX Europe 600
COPENHAGEN/ZUG (June 15, 2026) – Sparinvest and STOXX Ltd., part of the ISS STOXX group of companies, today announced Sparinvest’s launch of the first Danish-domiciled Exchange Traded Mutual Fund (the fund) tracking the STOXX® Europe 600 index. The fund launches today amid growing interest from investors in European equities, and leverages the combined strengths of Sparinvest, a leading Nordic asset manager, and STOXX, a leading provider of benchmark and custom index solutions, recognized for its transparent methodological approach.
“The STOXX Europe 600 is widely recognized as the leading benchmark for European equities, and it provides investors with broad diversification across countries, sectors and industries,” says Axel Lomholt, General Manager of STOXX. With a fixed number of 600 components, the benchmark represents large-, mid- and small-capitalization companies across 17 countries[1], — the widest coverage among flagship European benchmarks in the industry in terms of market capitalization and number of components[2].
“We are very pleased to collaborate with STOXX in launching the first Danish-domiciled fund to track the STOXX Europe 600 Index. With this fund, we offer investors a simple and cost-efficient way to gain exposure to 600 of the largest and most prominent listed companies across Europe in a single investment,” says Jørgen Søgaard-Andersen, CEO of Sparinvest. “We are seeing continued and growing demand from both institutional and retail investors for passive investment solutions that provide efficient access to broad market exposures. This trend is particularly pronounced in developed markets, where index investing has become a core building block in portfolio construction,” he continued.
Nearly EUR 17 billion in mutual fund investments[3] and more than EUR 30 billion in passive ETF assets[4] are currently benchmarked to the STOXX® Europe 600 index, which provides a broad yet investable representation of the region’s developed markets. Amid increasing interest in European equities, passive ETFs tracking the benchmark lifted their assets by 58% last year. The momentum has carried on into 2026, with total assets under management rising another 6.5% in the first quarter to EUR 32.5 billion.
Commenting on the trend, Sparinvest’s Søgaard-Andersen added: “Over the past years, we have also observed a shift in investor sentiment, with increasing attention turning towards European equities alongside a more balanced regional allocation. With this new STOXX Europe 600 fund, we are well positioned to meet that demand by offering a transparent, diversified and cost-effective way to invest in the European market.”
